The 34th Annual General Meeting was held on 21st December, 2019 at Scope Minar, Laxmi Nagar, Delhi.
The meeting was anchored by Mr Naveen Gupta, Org. Secretary and he welcomed leaders of Delhi unit on dais. The meeting was inaugurated with lighting of lamp. President Sh. YashWasdev was not present due to sudden demise in his relation, Working President Sh. Thakur Dass welcomed the participants of the Annual General Meeting. The leaders from Lucknow, Jaipur and Chandigarh could not attend meeting due to law and order problem and also severe cold climatic conditions. Mr. Neeraj Wasan, Secretary NICOA-Jodhpur Unit attended the meeting and Mr. Gautam Rajauria, President, NICOA-DDRO also attended the AGM even after all odds. He was struck up in jam at the Delhi Border for many hours.
The Agenda of the Meeting was taken up. Mr. Asim Ali Khan presented the Secretary Report containing current situation in the country, Industry and Delhi Region. The report was unanimously adopted by the house. Thereafter agenda for submission of Accounts and its adoption was taken up. The Accounts for the period ended on 31.12.2018 were also unanimously adopted by the house. The other issues raised by the members were replied by existing committee.
The dignitaries were felicitated by flowers. The new members were also welcomed with flowers. While delivering his lecture Mr. Neeraj Wasan, Secretary NICOA-Jodhpur Unit said that Return Transfer after completion of TMP must be time bound. He said that our name is NICOA, it is NIC before OA. As such we should put our sincere efforts for the betterment of NIC. NIC existence is our existence. Mr. V.K. Grover, DGM, DRO-IV graced the occasion. While speaking he said that service to the client is a key factor for growth. He said that there are various kinds of negative rumours in the market, however, he said National is capable of fighting all the odds. He said that NICOA always work for its members and for company’s existence. He also said that another option for pension is a big achievement for all of us. Mr. Sudhir Gupta, RM, DRO II also graced the occasion. While addressing the participants, he remembered his association with NICOA throughout his carrier and told young officers to stay loyal to NICOA.
Mr. Rajeev Ratan, Dy Gen. Sec., CONFED spoke on behalf of Central Committee. He welcomed the old leaders and life members who had come to attend the meeting. He informed the house that Return transfers after completion of TMP will be done anytime. He said he is confident that all the cases from Delhi will be cleared. However, he said that the fight will continue for left out cases. He informed that GIPSA is waiting for conclusion of Bank Wage Revision, which is expected any time. He also informed that the Check Off exercise is delayed due to court cases filed by certain associations.
Mr. Vishnu Agarwal from OICOA also addressed the gathering. He said that he is impressed by the large number of members present in the meeting. He requested the members to read the Charter of Demands which contains almost all our demands. Merger of companies will not be an easy task. There are so many inherent problems. He said that companies have started promotional exercise for the current year.
In his concluding speech Mr. R.K. Rana, Chairman thanked the dignitaries, leaders from other units. He specially thanked the young and new members who are attending the meeting. He also thanked the old veterans attending the meeting. He conveyed his best wishes for the new committee to be elected. He said that the new committee must ensure that the tradition of monthly meeting is not broken and requested all the members attend the same without fail. He said there is an urgent need to speed up the decision making and also to speed up claim disposal.
In the end the election for 17 Executive Committee members were conducted by Sh. Anil Kumar Chopra, election officer. We are thankful to Mr. Chopra for the smooth conduct of Elections. Subsequently meeting of new Executive Committee was held on 26th December, 2019 and election of office bearers, co-opted members and DO/BO coordinators was conducted.
